Matthew Schellhorn commissioned this piece for his 2014 performance in the Contemporary Music Centre's Salon Series at the National Concert Hall, Ireland.

Presenting a programme of Irish piano music, he made a particular focus on works composed as test pieces for competition or with specific technical challenges in mind.

Linda Buckley contributed this new piece built upon technical ideas stemming from her preparation of a test piece for the 2015 Dublin Piano Competition.

The title refers to fine rain falling after sunset from a sky in which no clouds are visible. It was written while on composing residency in Gotland, an island in the Baltic Sea. This was somehow the perfect location to be inspired to work on a piece like this, with the cold stillness of the Baltic blue sea and sky and its other-wordly sunsets seeping through into the music.
